What is event liability insurance?
Event liability insurance protects you from 3rd party exposure of bodily injury and property damage arising due to your negligence during your event up to the limit of insurance.
Why do I need event insurance?
You need event insurance to protect yourself and your guests from financial loss and potential legal liability that can arise from an event.
What is the turnaround time to get a quote for my event?
In most cases it is one day or less.
How quickly can I bind the coverage and get proof of insurance?
Once your bind order and premium payments are received, coverage will be bound either same day or the next business day.
What types of events can be covered?

Is liquor liability covered under all event liability insurance?
If you are serving alcohol ONLY, then ‘Host Liquor Liability’ can be included in the policy, however, if you are making any profit, cash bar, or cost of a drink included in cover charge then you will have to take retail Liquor Liability insurance in addition to the event liability insurance. This also requires getting an ABC (Alcoholic Beverage Control) license from appropriate authorities.
How much is the standard coverage limit of the policy?
1 million per occurrence and 2 million aggregate.
Are free, unlimited Certificates of Insurance provided with each policy?
Yes. As many as you need!
Can I get Liquor Liability insurance without the Event Liability Insurance?
It is difficult to get standalone Liquor Liability insurance. You will have to get general liability coverage to get liquor liability coverage.
Why do I need medical coverage when bodily injury is covered in the liability insurance?
Event insurance covers any lawsuits for 3rd party bodily injury and property damage. Medical coverage is to cover small medical claims for treatment of 3rd party bodily injury. This is when a lawsuit is not filed.

Is there any additional fee to issue certificates of insurance?
In most cases no. We don’t charge any certificate issuance fees unless the carrier is charging it.
What if my event is cancelled before the event date?
Premiums are fully earned once policies are bound. Underwriters may cancel the policy and provide refunds on a case-by-case basis after reviewing proof of the event being cancelled. Policy cannot be cancelled on the event day or after the event date.
Do I have to live in the state where the event is happening?
No you do not.
Do you cover festivals, fairs, or parades under your policies?
Yes, we do! Simply let us know about your event and we can get a quote out to you!
Can I serve liquor to my guests and be covered under the policy?
Yes, as long as it is only being served and not sold via a cash bar, or having the cost of a drink included in cover charge – as long as you are not making any profit out of it.
What if due to natural causes (rain, weather, hurricane) my event is cancelled? Will I be protected?
If you have purchased weather insurance, which is separate from liability insurance, then you can be covered by policy conditions, limits and exclusions.
What is host liquor liability?
Host Liquor Liability is the liability coverage against claim due to intoxication.
How do I report and file a claim in case of a loss?

Do you cover property damage caused during an event?

Can vendors or planners be added as Additional Insureds under your policy?
Vendors and planners should have their separate policies. A policy can either cover exposures as a vendor or as a planner. On a vendor policy, the host / planner / venue can be added as Additional Insured. If you need clarification, please be in touch so we can clear things up.
Is increased medical expense coverage available for injuries at events?
While this is not a customizable limit for a standard event, for larger events it can be underwritten at a higher limit. If you have questions, please reach out to us so we can clarify things for you.
Do you provide coverage for event cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances?
Normally, event cancellation is due to specific things like weather related issues like hurricane, earthquake, terrorism, labor strike, no show of key person, and venue not available due to flood, fire, or power outage. Make sure to ask us about weather insurance. If you are wondering about something not mentioned above, feel free to let us know. We’re happy to shed light wherever we can.
Are there certain weather-related instances that would NOT be covered?
Weather related issues like hurricane, earthquake, and venue not available due to flood or fire, would be covered. Remember, weather insurance is its own policy. Let us know if you have questions so we can clarify things for you.
Is coverage available for lost revenue due to non-appearance of key individuals?
It may depend; however, the short answer is yes, it is normally underwritten. Feel free to be in touch for further clarification.
Does your cancellation policy cover postponement costs?
As long as any financial loss is due to a covered incident. To understand more about what is considered a covered incident, please let us know more about your event.
Is coverage available for lost deposits from vendors who fail to deliver services?
Not exactly. It does re key personal but not vendors. If you need clarification, please let us know.
Does contingency insurance include protection against wildfires or other natural disasters?
For the most part, yes. Hurricane, earthquake, and venue not available due to flood, fire, or power outage. Anything else, please include your specific questions when you request a quote and we are happy to get this answered for you.
Do you provide liquor liability coverage for events serving alcohol without a license?
Host liquor where the host is serving liquor and not charging for it, does not require a license. All event policies cover host liquor liability. For events where there is a cash bar, cover charge including cost of a drink, or where ABC is required, then host liquor will not apply. In these cases, the insured has to get a retail liquor license.
Is liquor liability included for events where alcohol is sold or served with a permit?
For sold liquor, retail liquor liability should be purchased, otherwise host liquor is already included in event policies.
Is it possible to cover music performances which include the following music genres: punk/heavy metal, and/or rap/hip-hop?
Yes, but very few carriers write this. It has high premiums and strict guidelines to follow like metal detectors, security, local PD, etc. If you would like to discuss specifics, please let us know when you submit the form to get a quote and we can share more about specific guidelines and premiums.
Do you cover sporting events which include physical combat like wrestling, MMA, boxing, etc.?
Thank you for asking, however, NO we do not.
Is it possible to cancel the policy before the event starts for a full refund?
It depends. Premiums are fully earned once bound. A policy may be able to be cancelled on a case-by-case basis, with proof from the venue that the event is cancelled and there must be a valid reason.
Are you able to provide insurance coverage for parties, special events, and/or trade shows, and conferences which showcase, sell, or distribute high-value merchandise, including (but not limited to) fine jewelry, designer clothes, designer handbags, and other big-ticket retail or wholesale goods.
No, event policies are liability policies and do not cover any artwork, high value items etc. If you need to cover high value items or artwork, we will need to understand more about your specific event.
