If you are serving alcohol ONLY, then ‘Host Liquor Liability’ can be included in the policy, however, if you are making any profit, cash bar, or cost of a drink included in cover charge then you will have to take retail Liquor Liability insurance in addition to the event liability insurance. This also requires getting an ABC (Alcoholic Beverage Control) license from appropriate authorities.

It is difficult to get standalone Liquor Liability insurance. You will have to get general liability coverage to get liquor liability coverage.

In most cases no. We don’t charge any certificate issuance fees unless the carrier is charging it.

Premiums are fully earned once policies are bound. Underwriters may cancel the policy and provide refunds on a case-by-case basis after reviewing proof of the event being cancelled. Policy cannot be cancelled on the event day or after the event date.

Vendors and planners should have their separate policies. A policy can either cover exposures as a vendor or as a planner. On a vendor policy, the host / planner / venue can be added as Additional Insured. If you need clarification, please be in touch so we can clear things up.

Normally, event cancellation is due to specific things like weather related issues like hurricane, earthquake, terrorism, labor strike, no show of key person, and venue not available due to flood, fire, or power outage. For the most part, yes. Hurricane, earthquake, and venue not available due to flood, fire, or power outage. Anything else, please include your specific questions when you request a quote and we are happy to get this answered for you.

Host liquor where the host is serving liquor and not charging for it, does not require a license. All event policies cover host liquor liability. For events where there is a cash bar, cover charge including cost of a drink, or where ABC is required, then host liquor will not apply. In these cases, the insured has to get a retail liquor license.

For sold liquor, retail liquor liability should be purchased, otherwise host liquor is already included in event policies.

Yes, but very few carriers write this. It depends. Premiums are fully earned once bound. A policy may be able to be cancelled on a case-by-case basis, with proof from the venue that the event is cancelled and there must be a valid reason. 

No, event policies are liability policies and do not cover any artwork, high value items etc. If you need to cover high value items or artwork, we will need to understand more about your specific event.
